Live Webinar - Clinical Psychology Resource Centre

Helping Parents Become the Agent of Change

A practical skills webinar for psychologists, counsellors & allied health professionals

You sit with a parent who is exhausted, overwhelmed, and genuinely trying. You know what they need. But do you have the exact words, the precise structure, the clinical framework to teach it - in a way that follows them home?

Most training tells you what good parenting looks like. This webinar teaches you how to teach it - skill by skill, session by session, with the language and tools to make it actually land.

Because knowing the theory is not the same as knowing how to teach it.

Framework
Regulated Parenting Model™

Presented through the Clinical Psychology Resource Centre - high quality, evidence-informed training built for clinicians who want skills they can use from their very next session.

Why This Webinar Exists

Working with families is some of the most important and most technically demanding - clinical work there is. And most of us weren’t really trained to do it.

We were trained to understand child development, attachment, and behavioural theory. But how to actually sit with a parent and teach them to parent differently? How to give them the exact words, the precise strategies, and the emotional regulation skills that follow them from your consulting room into their kitchen at 6pm on a Tuesday? That part is rarely covered and the gap shows.

Parents leave sessions motivated but don’t know what to do next. Strategies feel theoretical. Clinicians feel unsure how to structure the work, what to say, and how to translate evidence into something a real parent in a real moment can actually use.

After close to three decades working with thousands of families, Dr Anna Cohen developed the Regulated Parenting Model™ to answer that exact problem - for parents, and for the clinicians who support them. This webinar gives you the complete framework, the clinical language, and the session-by-session structure to teach parenting skills with genuine confidence and lasting impact.

Your Lead Presenter

Dr Anna Cohen
Clinical Psychologist & Founder

I have been working with children, adolescents, and families as a Clinical Psychologist for close to three decades. I am the founder of the Better Parent Academy and the Regulated Parenting Model™, and I have spoken with thousands of parents across my career - in private practice, in group programmes, and through the Academy.

I am also a mother of two young women. That, more than anything, has kept me honest about what parenting actually feels like from the inside and why the gap between intention and action is so real, and so changeable.

I co-founded the Clinical Psychology Resource Centre with Isabel Fraser because we kept running into the same problem: clinicians who were theoretically well-trained but who needed practical, translatable skills to bring into their sessions with families. That is what the CPRC is built to provide.

Author of 5 books on parenting and child psychology, including Skilful Parent, Happy Child (2023), Taming Teens (2019), and Parenting Made Easy (2013 & 2015). Peer-reviewed publications include research on attachment, gifted children, and child sexual assault disclosure.

“After close to thirty years working with families, the thing I know most clearly is this: parents don’t change because they understand the theory. They change because a skilled clinician helped them feel understood first - and then gave them a framework they could actually hold onto.”

— Dr Anna Cohen, Better Parent Academy

Is This for You?

This webinar is for you if you work with parents - at any stage of your career.

Whether you are fresh out of training or decades into your practice, if you sit with families and want to do that work better - this is for you.

New & Early-Career Clinicians

You graduated with a solid theoretical foundation but find that family sessions can feel uncertain. You want a clear, structured model and the exact clinical language to deliver parent skills work with confidence from the very start of your career.

Experienced Psychologists & Counsellors

Your instincts are good and you have years of experience. But you’re looking for a cohesive, evidence-based framework to give your parent work a consistent structure and perhaps language that is more precise and effective than what you’ve been using.

Private Practice Clinicians

You work with families across the lifespan and want to offer genuine, structured parent coaching - not just psychoeducation. You want a model you can follow session by session, with strategies you can adapt to each family’s specific challenges.

School, Community & Allied Health Professionals

You support families in high-pressure, time-limited contexts. You need a clear, fast-to-deploy framework with concrete language that parents can take home and actually use - not just understand in theory.

A Note on Scope

The Regulated Parenting Model™ is a coaching framework, not a clinical treatment. It is designed for clinicians supporting families in the general community. Where families present with complex trauma, active mental illness, domestic violence, or other clinical complexity, this framework complements - but does not replace - your existing treatment approach. Anna addresses clinical escalation and referral considerations throughout the webinar.

Your Co-Presenter

Isabel Fraser
Clinical Psychologist & Co-Founder, CPRC

Isabel Fraser is a Clinical Psychologist and co-founder of the Clinical Psychology Resource Centre. She brings years of direct clinical experience working with families, children, and adolescents, and is a close collaborator in the development and delivery of the Regulated Parenting Model™ through the Better Parent Academy.

Isabel and Anna founded the CPRC from a shared experience that will be familiar to many of you: spending years supervising and supporting new graduates, and seeing the same gap emerge again and again. Clinicians were arriving with strong theoretical knowledge but without the practical, in-room skills to feel truly equipped when working with families. And the same was true for experienced practitioners - the CPD landscape just wasn’t giving them what they needed.

The CPRC was built specifically to fix that. Every piece of training it offers is designed around one question: will this clinician leave better equipped to do their work tomorrow? Not better informed. Better equipped.

You’ll recognise yourself if:

  • A parent leaves your session nodding - but you wonder if they’ll actually use anything you covered
  • You’re not always sure what to say when a parent is overwhelmed, reactive, or resistant
  • You want a structured model for parent sessions - not just a collection of techniques
  • You’ve done CPD that felt interesting in the room and useless at 9am Monday
  • You want to feel genuinely confident doing parent coaching, not like you’re improvising
