Completion is not competence

The difference between attending and being certified

Every CPRC training gives you a certificate of completion. This credential gives you something more demanding: an independent judgement that you can do the work, assessed against a defined standard and vouched for by a board-approved supervisor.

The three pathways

One method, across the whole family system

The credential is built on three live programs - each a webinar plus a six-session coaching masterclass. Together they cover the parent and family, the child, and the adolescent under one formulation-led approach.

Helping Parents Become the Agent of Change - the live webinar plus the Parent Coaching Masterclass. Teach and coach the Regulated Parenting Model™: its three pillars, eight core skills, and the self-regulation tool, Stop. Breathe. Respond.

Parent Coaching Masterclass · 6 × 2-hour sessions
1Clinical assessment & first-session structure
2Teaching parental self-regulation in session
3Active listening & acknowledgement
4Effective instructions, choices & consequences
5Adolescents - adapting the model for teens
6Integration, complex cases & full course structure
The path to certification

Four steps, completion to credential

The taught pathways build the skill; the supervised year and the assessment are what turn completion into certification.

1

Complete the three pathways

All three webinars and all three coaching masterclasses — parents, children and adolescents.

2

Twelve months of supervision

Apply the method on your caseload in the fortnightly group; quarterly certificates of supervised practice issued.

3

Competency assessment

A case presentation, a practice sample, a written 5P formulation and a parent-coaching demonstration, assessed against the standard.

4

Certification & register

On meeting the standard across all domains, you’re certified and listed on the CPRC register.

A stackable ladder

You earn as you go

I

Pathway certificates

Each webinar-plus-masterclass earns a certificate of completion with CPD hours — useful on their own.

II

Full certification

All three pathways, twelve months of supervision and the assessment — the capstone, assessed-competence credential.

III

Teaching & Facilitator Licence

An optional, higher tier authorising you to teach or deliver the Regulated Parenting Model™. Its own bar and licence terms.

The competency standard

Assessed against seven domains

Certification requires “meets standard” across every domain, rated against a defined rubric and signed off by a Psychology Board of Australia board-approved supervisor on the evidence you present.

This is what lets the credential say “competent in the method” rather than “attended the training” and what your assessors apply consistently to everyone.

Is it for you

Built for clinicians who want to go all the way

This is for you if

  • You’re a registered or provisional practitioner working with children, adolescents and families.
  • You want competence vouched for, not just attendance logged.
  • You’re ready to apply the model under supervision across a full year.
  • You want one coherent method spanning parents, children and teens.

Good to know

  • It complements your registration and supervision - it doesn’t replace either.
  • It certifies competence in the CPRC method; it is not a registration or a protected title.
  • You can take a single pathway first and build toward the full credential.
  • The supervision group may count toward 4+2 / 5+1 / endorsement supervision - confirm with AHPRA.
