Early in your career? This group is built for exactly that.

This is the room.

A closed weekly group for provisional psychologists and registrars. One hour, every week, with the same ten people from start to finish and a Board-approved supervisor - built for the years when the questions can't wait a fortnight.

  • 12 weekly one-hour sessions
  • Closed cohort, capped at 10
  • Live online, same link every week
  • Payment plans available
A table with ten seats, one for each place in the cohort One hour. Every week.

Ten places. Closed once the cohort starts.

Enrolment closes 27th January 2027

The hard questions don't arrive on a schedule.

In your first years, a case can shift between Tuesday and Friday. This group is weekly and closed because that's what the early work actually needs.

A fortnight is a long time to sit with a question.

Weekly means the case that unsettled you this week can be in the room within days. Risk issues still go directly to your individual supervision, and anything urgent to your principal supervisor straight away.

The same ten people, every week.

Nobody joins after week one and nobody drops in and out. Nobody has to explain their caseload from scratch, and over the weeks the group comes to know your work — which is the point of keeping it closed.

Small enough for the question you're embarrassed to ask.

In your first years it is almost never a stupid question. The group is capped at ten so there is room to ask it.

Bring anything. Every week.

If it's on your mind about your work, it belongs on the table.

  • Assessment
  • Formulation
  • Risk
  • Ethics
  • The therapeutic relationship
  • The parent who won't engage
  • The case you've been putting off writing up
  • Something you did this week and aren't sure was right

All case material is de-identified - no names, and no details that could reasonably identify a client or family. You stay within your own scope and supervision throughout, and everyone in the group agrees to keep what is discussed confidential, within the usual professional and legal limits.

Risk issues go to your individual supervision first. Bring them to the group to think through afterwards, never instead. Anything urgent needs urgent supervision with your principal supervisor.

How the twelve weeks run.

Start on 28th January 2027 at 9:30am. Calendar invitations are sent when you enrol.

  1. Week 1

    Arrive with nothing.

Introductions, how the group will run, then whatever anybody has brought. Nobody is put on the spot, and arriving with something unresolved is more useful than arriving with something tidy.

  2. Weeks 2–4

    Put something on the table.

"I don't know what's going on with this one" is a complete reason to bring a case. Bring it early - there's no need to wait for something impressive, and the group can only work with what's on the table.

  3. Weeks 5–6

    Halfway.

The group knows each other now. If you haven't brought a case yet, this is the week.

  4. Weeks 7–10

The thing you've been working out alone.

Many new graduates have one area they quietly avoid raising - risk, endings, parent conversations, notes they suspect aren't good enough. The second half is for that.

  5. Weeks 11–12

    Close well.

Bring your week-one client back. After twelve weeks with the same case, it is worth looking back together at how your thinking about it has developed.

  6. After

    Your records.

Full attendance and session records within 7 days of the final session, for your supervision logbook.

How it fits your pathway.

This group supplements the supervision your pathway requires.

It sits alongside your principal supervisor, not instead of them.

Whether any of these hours count toward your pathway requirements depends on your Board-approved supervision plan. That is a question for your principal supervisor rather than for us. We provide attendance and session records to support your supervision logbook; what those records can be used for is between you, your supervisor and the Board.

We'd rather say that plainly now than have somebody discover it in month eleven of a registrar program. If you're unsure, check with your principal supervisor before you book.

Risk doesn't wait for the group. Any risk issue should go directly to your individual supervision - please don't hold it for the next weekly session. If something is urgent, seek urgent supervision with your principal supervisor straight away and follow your service's risk and safety protocols. This group is for thinking cases through over time; it is not a crisis or on-call service.
Registrars: a note on CPD. Provisional psychologists are exempt from the Board's CPD standard. If you hold general registration - as registrars do - the time in this group focused on your own practice may also count toward your annual peer-consultation hours. Confirm against your own learning plan and registration requirements.
Log it from week one. A couple of lines after each session is enough. Whatever you go on to do, the hours are yours, and reconstructing them later is a job nobody enjoys.

Who runs the room.

Each cohort is led by a Board-approved supervisor from the Clinical Psychology Resource Centre, founded by Dr Anna Cohen and Isabel Fraser — both Psychology Board of Australia Board-approved supervisors who have supervised clinical practice for many years.

Is this your room?

Before we talk about the investment, let's make sure it fits. We'd rather you knew now than found out in week three.

This is for you if…

  • You're a provisional psychologist or a registrar in your first years of practice.
  • Your questions tend to arrive between one supervision session and the next.
  • You'd rather think a case through with the same people each week than explain it from scratch.
  • You can commit to twelve consecutive weeks at a fixed time.

It isn't the right fit if…

  • You need something to replace your principal supervisor. This sits alongside that arrangement.
  • You want to drop in when it suits. It's a closed weekly cohort, and turning up matters.
  • You're established and looking for the next stage of your practice. There's a pathway for that later — this isn't it.

What the twelve weeks add up to.

Not a list of features. One room, held for twelve weeks, while you do the hardest years of the work.

And what staying the same costs.

For many early-career clinicians, training isn't what's missing. What's missing is a place for the work to go between supervision sessions.

Without one, the questions don't disappear. You carry them. You make the call on your own, on the drive home, and hope it was right. Over time the habit of having your work looked at fades - not because you decided anything, but because there was nowhere for it to go.

The rooms you place yourself in during your first years recalibrate you.

So the question isn't only what twelve weeks costs. It's what the next twelve weeks look like if nothing changes.

Ten places. Twelve weeks.

Once the cohort starts it closes, so the ten people in week one are the ten people in week twelve.

Not sure how it fits your supervision plan? Ask your principal supervisor first - we'd rather you did. Risk and urgent matters always go to your individual supervision, not the weekly group. Anything else: [email protected]

Take a breath.

You'll know if this is your room.

We're not interested in convincing you. We're interested in you being clear. We believe in this group completely, and the only yes worth having is a considered one.

And if you're waiting to feel certain first — you don't need to. Certainty in this work doesn't arrive before you move. It's built by moving.

What might be stopping you.

Let's look at the hesitations honestly — what's true in them, and what's also true.

"I can't justify $2,500 right now."

What's true: the first years are rarely the best-paid ones, and this is real money.

What's also true: if the lump sum is the obstacle, the payment plan exists for exactly that. If the money genuinely isn't there this year, that's a legitimate answer — and a better one than stretching past it.

"I already have a principal supervisor."

What's true: you do, and you should. Nothing here changes that.

What's also true: this is a different kind of room — the same peers at your stage, every week, alongside your supervisor rather than instead of them. For some people, their existing supervision is enough. You're the best judge of whether it is for you.

"I don't know enough yet to bring anything useful."

What's true: you're early, and you'll have more questions than answers.

What's also true: that is who this group is built for. You can arrive with nothing in week one, and "I don't know what's going on with this one" is a complete reason to bring a case.

"Weekly feels like a lot."

What's true: it's twelve fixed hours, and a closed group relies on people turning up.

What's also true: it's one hour, and it ends at twelve weeks. If you can already see you'll miss most of them, wait for a cohort that fits — that's the right call.

"I'm not sure it'll count toward my hours."

What's true: we can't tell you that, and we won't pretend to.

What's also true: your principal supervisor can. Ask them before you enrol. If the answer matters to your decision, it's worth the five-minute conversation.

"I'd feel exposed putting my work in front of peers."

What's true: showing unfinished work is uncomfortable, especially early on.

What's also true: everyone in the room is at the same stage, the group is capped at ten, nobody is put on the spot, and you choose what you bring and when.

What happens when you say yes.

No surprises. Here is exactly what follows.

  1. Choose how to pay

At checkout, pay in full or choose the payment plan. Your place is confirmed straight away.

  2. Your welcome email arrives

Immediately: your dates, the joining link, calendar invitations, and a plain explanation of how the group fits your pathway.

  3. A note before week one

Two days before you start: the link again, and nothing to prepare. If you like, pick one client to follow through the twelve weeks.

  4. Week one

You arrive, meet the group, and the twelve weeks begin.

Before you decide.

Will these hours count toward my pathway?

That depends on your Board-approved supervision plan, and it's a question for your principal supervisor rather than for us. We provide attendance and session records to support your supervision logbook. This group supplements — never replaces — the supervision your pathway requires.

How is this different from the Ongoing Supervision Group?

The Ongoing Supervision Group is a standing membership for clinicians at every career stage: fortnightly 90-minute sessions, capped at 15, billed quarterly. This group is built for your first years: weekly one-hour sessions, a closed cohort of no more than ten, and a fixed twelve weeks — for the stage when the questions can't wait a fortnight.

Does this count toward my CPD peer-consultation hours?

If you're a provisional psychologist, the Board's CPD standard doesn't apply to you yet. If you hold general registration — for example as a registrar — the time focused on your own practice may count toward your peer-consultation hours. Either way, confirm against your own learning plan and registration requirements. We're Board-approved supervisors, not your registration body; final responsibility for what you log rests with you.

Does this replace my principal supervisor?

No. It sits alongside that arrangement, not instead of it.

Can I join after the first week?

No. The cohort is closed once it starts, which is what lets the group get to know each other's work. If this cohort is full or has started, email us and we'll let you know if another cohort is scheduled.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. Payment plans are available at checkout: [ N ] instalments of [ $X ], [ $TOTAL ] in total[ , with no extra fees ]. Your place is confirmed once your first payment goes through.

What if I have to miss a week?

Let us know beforehand — not to explain yourself, but so the group isn't waiting. Because it's a closed group, turning up matters more than in a drop-in format.

What if I don't have a case ready?

Most people don't in week one. You can arrive with nothing, and "I don't know what's going on with this one" is a complete reason to bring a case later.

How is confidentiality handled?

All case material is de-identified — no names, and no details that could reasonably identify a client or family. Everyone in the group agrees to keep what is discussed confidential, within the usual professional and legal limits.

What if a risk issue or something urgent comes up?

Don't wait for the group. Any risk issue should go directly to your individual supervision. If something is urgent, seek urgent supervision with your principal supervisor straight away and follow your service's risk and safety protocols. The group is for thinking cases through over time; it is not a crisis or on-call service.

What happens after the twelve weeks?

You'll receive your records, and we'll set out the options for a standing supervision arrangement afterwards — including our Ongoing Supervision Group. For plenty of people, their existing arrangement with their principal supervisor is the right answer.

This is the room.

Let the decision come from the version of you who is ready to be in it. If that's now, secure your place. If it isn't, that's a clear answer too and a good one.

Enrolment closes January 27th, 2027, or earlier if all ten places are taken.
